The weather was fine, the food was plentiful and GOOD, the wine went down a treat, needless to say the bets and beer were flying as well. After the day got off to a slow start weather wise it really cleared up and it was thongs and hats all round. I wore my best LOUD shirt, and specially designed hat made by Nikki. Nikki's hat was also a creation of hers and it really turned heads at Derby Day too I'm told! Pete and Sue spared no expense so it was a real flash do all round!
First 'event' for the day, me being thrown out of the local TAB. Thrown out
for drinking on the premises, and out of the whole shopping complex too! We had
ducked down to place a couple of bets in Rob's pimp
mobile. I wandered in half full stubby in hand, and out of nowhere appears
a security guard,
"no drinking on the grounds Sir" he said.
"Ok" I said and wandered out to the carpark to finish sipping my drink,
a couple of sips later,
"I'm sorry, on the grounds means the whole complex Sir"
"Holy shit Margaret, where's the boundaries then Mate?" I demanded.
Just in time Rob and Gayle save the day we jump back in the pimp mobile and head
off in to the sunset!
I had already spent the morning cleaning the yard and then me and Pete chopped all the vegies 'n stuff, ready for this Menu for the 2002 Melbourne Cup.
Yummo, eh, well we'll repeat it all over again next year so keep in touch, and don't forget it's national BBQ day on November 24th so come one over and cook it up!
Best Hat of the day had to go to Nikki, yes I am biased, congrats to the winning jockey for the day, thanks for helping us win a bit of cash!
