G'day, I'm Stuart Murdoch, [Artist : Teacher : Photographer : Publisher], 
I specialise in all forms of creative image construction/manipulation using still cameras.
Art/Photography
Visit my gallery to see what I make. Additionally I offer a variety of photographic services, using traditional and digital mediums to produce imagery, contact me for details. I also offer regular practical workshops and tutorials, in Photoshop®.
When I make images, historically most are fine silver gelatin prints. However I also use other films and materials, such as, colour film, and Polaroid® materials and cameras, as a means of creative image construction.
Digital photography these days; forms a large part of my work, I am considering small [126 & 110 instamatic format]/cheap/toy cameras, and if I can exploit their characteristics as well as using Digital technologies to produce a 'fine print', [my masters project offers a definition,you can read the summarized version when I find it and upload it]. At last I found it, or rather the summary, the whole thing as an object, lives in the RMIT library, download it and have a read
Finally, I am toying with a mobile phone camera [ Sony Ericsson K700i/k610i/C902], to see what kind of imagery I can create, these days I upload most of my images to flickr a great photosharing resource.
Teaching
I have been very fortunate to be part of a team of hard working educators at PIC photographic imaging college now since the early 1990's. I also teach at Victoria University on a sessional basis, and run short course and workshops in photoshop, also at PIC.
Photographer
I use lot's of cameras, to explore the world around me, to explore ideas about the word and me and my place in it, and use sites like flickr to share those ideas.
Publishing
I have been tinkering with web publishing now since 1995/6. My step into this realm of publishing has several driving factors behind it, the explosion into the public's awareness of the system itself, my becoming more conversant with computers, the reading of the book creating killer web sites, and my own personal belief in the power of the web to empower both self expression and ‘freedom of speech.’ Ultimately though I guess I am a somewhat frustrated, desktop publisher/publisher. This medium allows me to be my own publisher of the materials I have found to be of some use to me, on this journey of image making and web publishing. This site over the years has progressed from a graphically intensive site to one that now employs CSS. I bought this domain name, in the middle of 2002, and moved to my current hosting company that same year.
